Lots of people have been asking for more posts on organic skincare and natural products. Read on to see my current skincare routine and which products I am using.
I think that skincare is one of my favourite things I like to buy. Although now I only buy enough for my needs, rather than stock piling and trying products and picking up testers that I will never get through. Creating minimal waste and avoiding as much plastic as possible is a permanent and ever evolving goal of mine, so beauty and skincare products are certainly included. I try to take the packaging into consideration and look for eco-friendly . In recent years I have really started to question what is in the products, and what actually works for my skin, rather than just believing a shiny marketing campaign. For me, I have found my skin reacts best to natural products with as little synthetics as possible. Organic is definitely preferable and cruelty free an absolute must.
Organic and Natural skincare favourites
One of my favourite brands that I have posted about before, Evolve Organic Beauty is my current brand for cleanser. I wash my face twice a day with this in the morning and the evening. I have found that using a cleanser twice a day, rather than just in the evening to remove make-up, has made a big difference to the clarity of my skin. I am currently using British brand Nourish London’s calming moisturiser from their sensitive collection. This is a lovely rich feeling moisturiser which isn’t at all greasy. It absorbs into my skin quickly, leaving it feeling comfortable and hydrated. It contains my favourite essential oil lavender, so has a really lovely and soothing scent. The brand is cruelty free, vegan and organic, and where certified, done by the Soil Association.
I was apprehensive to try a face oil for my combination skin, but I couldn’t be happier with the results. The By Sarah London Organic Face Oil has visibly improved the tone of my skin and I wake up each morning with plump skin and brighter skin. You only need a tiny drop of the oil that I massage into damp skin and press into the eye area and finish with a swipe over my lips. I chose to use this once a day at night in the evening after I have taken my make up off. With only a handful of organic ingredients, I know exactly what I am putting into my body.
This is a new one for me that I have tried pretty recently but I have fallen in love with it. The Caudalie Divine Oil, is truly that, absolutely divine! The smell is incredible. A highly fragrant yet gentle scent floral and slightly woody scent. The oil comes in a spray glass bottle and is a multipurpose product that can be used on the face body and hair. Caudalie use a mixture of organic and natural ingredients and are sourced ethically and sustainably. Packaging is made from recycled plastics, wood and glass, and they even recycle their spa water to irrigate their farm land. This is a brand I think I will be using a lot more of!
